• The book really is beautiful and makes a great gift ( I ordered a few extra copies to gift to friends ) Most importantly it is a truly pleasurable read. Beth takes you on parts of her own fascinating journey with Japan as she shares the true wisdom of Wabi Sabi. As with Beth's other wonderful book - Freedom Seeker - I needed a notepad nearby to write down all of the inspiring but thankfully practical advice for living a perfectly imperfect life!
• Loved this fantastic book - starting with the beautiful cover and then turning the luxurious thick paper pages. I read a little bit each morning while having my coffee. Sometimes only reading a couple pages to enjoy it more.
  The short vignettes throughout the book conjured up magical images, smells, tastes, and more.
  Lots of helpful practical advice too.

  One of my favorite parts in the book is when Beth talks about self-help gurus and how they claim to have woken up one day and their life is now perfect.
  
  Beth says, “I don’t buy it. We are all works in progress. Some of us happen to have had the opportunity to reflect, and perhaps have a platform from which to share what we are discovering as we go, but, in truth we are all learning from one another.”
  
  I felt like I found a truth sister as I often say that I too am a work in progress. Life is messy, but that is where the nuggets of wisdom are. Perfect is an illusion.
  
  We Westerners can learn so much from Japanese wisdom and it was such a delight to travel down the many roads of Wabi Sabi that Beth shares in her exquisite book after having spent many years living and working in the culture.
  
  I found myself so much more calm and at peace reading this book. It’s why it remains on my coffee table – not only for the gorgeous and serene cover, but for the wisdom that floats out to greet me each time I glance at it.

This is a collection of eleven short stories about the experiences of a pilot flying a small aircraft in a remote area of Guyana, South America.

The author recounts the challenges of flying a Cessna U206 among the tiny Amerindian villages, providing humanitarian relief in the form of air ambulance for the sick and injured and as cargo transport for medical facilities.

The work was hot, sweaty and dirty. The airstrips were short and rough, hand hewn by the villagers with hoes and machetes.

The stories all include interesting characters that the author worked with and served and describes the silly and the sad aspects of trying to provide aid in this very poor, rural, third world country.

The stories are all true.

• This is an incredible book - the things that this family does to help people is exceptional. This book had me ready to get on a flight and become a missionary. I love the adventure and I think you will too.
• I've read this book at least 5 times - more for some chapters - and I've thoroughly enjoyed it evey time. Rob has a way of capturing stories that take you there. As a family, he, our baby daughter, and I served in Guyana six months Feb 2001-Aug 2001. It was a tremendous experience and the aviation service saved many lives. I hope that he will keep writing and that you'll look for those stories about our next project in Guatemala!

• This is the first journal for depression I've seen that actually seems like it is written by someone who understands the daily struggles of depression. Super easy to use, even on down days. The author uses a daily two-page format with one page of simple checklists and fill-in-the-blanks and another page for writing or drawing (or scribbling). It's an easy to use size (about the size of a composition book) and has a clear font (the friend I gave it to said she could even read it through tears.) The tips at the front of the journal are encouraging, compassionate and feel very doable. No pressure, just encouragement to see every daily victory for what it is. So glad to have this journal to share with those that need it.
