  • A decent, if uneven book the authors bring a scholarly approach to the various comics that have been done about planet of the apes. These efforts have been wildly diverse. As a long time apes fan, my favorite run was marvels, even though I never liked the mostly silly terror storyline. Adventure/Malibu I thought was garbage and boom comics is a bit too of the accepted timeline. But here, in this book which would have gotten another star if there had been more illustrations, tells the reader about all the comics, from the great to the garbage. A nice job.
  • I really enjoyed this. I've read most, maybe all of these comicsat one point or another. I wish I still had them I've been a huge Planet of the Apes fan since the original came out when I was 16 years old. Highly recommended.
  • Just a brief review- Wow what a wonderful book , finally one place for all the collected outlines of the Apes comics as well as a few unreleased goodies. Highly recommended.
  • Great analytical compendium of all Apes-related comics! If you're a POTA- phile, you will want to add this to your collection!
  • the book was good but could have been better. They could have give more info on the marvel comics.
  • Fun, nice...for the POTA fans.
  • I loved this book. I'm a big fan of everything Planet of the Apes, but especially the comic books. And this book covers every PotA comic book ever made. In depth discussions and reviews of every issue of every series really helps the serious collector separate the wheat from the chaff. Illustrated throughout, if you're a fan of PotA comics, you need this book in your collection.
  • Never having read the comic books for the Planet of the Apes universe I found the essays to be very enlightening. I am interested in locating some of the older issues, ones published in the 1970s, because of this book. If you are at all curious of the history of the Planet of the Apes in the comic book media then this is a great primer to read on that universe.
